ARTICLE TYPES

1. ORIGINAL ARTICLE

An original article is any article about urology and may be descriptive or analytic in design. Once submitted to the PJU, original articles undergo peer review and afterwards may be required to undergo revisions, accepted immediately or rejected.

2. REVIEW ARTICLE

Review articles can be about any topic in urology, but are usually about the current trends. Review articles are only commissioned by the Editor.

3. LETTERS TO THE EDITOR/ COMMENTS

Letters to the editor contain comments about articles previously published in the PJU.

Letters to the editors should have 1,000 words or less and cite not more than six references. A single figure or table may be included. Letters to the editor will undergo peer review and must include full author contact details.

4. RESPONSE OF AUTHORS TO LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

The authors of the article being commented on are given a chance to respond in writing to the comments contained in the letter to the editor. This response (if accepted) will be published at the same time as the letter to the editor.

The response of the authors to the letters to the editors should have 1,000 words or less and cite not more than six references. A single figure or table may be included. These will undergo peer review and must include full author contact details.
